How to Stand Out on Jida
Tips from our casting team to help you get noticed.
Your Photos Matter Most
Your photos are the first thing a casting director sees — and often the only thing that determines whether you make the shortlist. You don't need a professional photographer, but you do need good photos.
- Headshot: A clear, well-lit photo of your face. Natural light works best. Look directly at the camera with a neutral or friendly expression.
- Full body: Stand naturally in fitted clothing so your proportions are visible. Avoid baggy outfits that hide your frame.
- Lifestyle: A casual shot that shows your personality — at a cafe, outdoors, or doing something you enjoy. This helps brands see how you look in real-world settings.
- Variety: Upload at least 4-6 photos showing different angles, outfits, and settings. More variety means more opportunities.
Avoid heavy filters and editing. Brands want to see the real you. If you show up to set looking different from your photos, it hurts trust for future bookings.
Complete Every Field
Casting directors filter talent by specific criteria — height, weight, age, eye color, hair color, skills, and languages. Every field you leave blank is a search you won't show up in.
Take five minutes to fill out everything. List all your skills: if you can dance, swim, ride a horse, speak multiple languages, or play a sport — add it. You never know what a brand is looking for.
Profiles with all fields completed are 3x more likely to appear in casting searches than incomplete ones.
Keep Your Availability Updated
Brands work on tight timelines. If your profile looks inactive or your availability is unclear, they'll move on to the next person. Log in regularly, keep your calendar current, and respond promptly when we reach out about opportunities.
If you're traveling or unavailable for a period, update your status so we don't send you bookings you can't accept.
Add Your Instagram
Social media presence matters. Brands often check a talent's Instagram to see their aesthetic, audience, and how they present themselves. You don't need a massive following — consistency and quality matter more than numbers.
Link your Instagram in your profile settings. It gives casting directors more confidence in booking you and shows that you take your career seriously.
Upload Your Civil ID
Verified profiles rank higher in our system. Uploading your Civil ID is quick, and it signals to our team — and to brands — that you're a serious, legitimate talent ready for paid work.
Your Civil ID is encrypted and stored securely. It's never shared with brands or anyone outside our admin team. Learn more about why we collect it.
Verified talent with a Civil ID on file are prioritized in casting recommendations. It's one of the easiest things you can do to increase your visibility.
Be Professional
Your reputation follows you. The talent community is tight-knit, and word travels fast. Here's what brands and our team value most:
- Respond quickly: When we reach out about a booking, reply within a few hours. Slow responses can cost you the job.
- Show up on time: Arrive 10-15 minutes early. Shoots run on tight schedules, and delays affect the entire crew.
- Be kind on set: Treat everyone — from the photographer to the assistant — with respect. Teams remember who was great to work with.
- Follow through: If you commit to a booking, honor it. Canceling last-minute damages your profile and makes it harder to get future work.
The talent who gets rebooked isn't always the one with the best photos — it's the one who was easiest to work with.
